The largest US gathering of women with lipedema ever!

Lipedema affects millions of women in the US (see publication tab: RADs masquerading as obesity and Butcher's broom article). It is a painful adipose disorder (PAD) in which the fat once deposited, is not responsive to diet and exercise. Weight loss results in loss of normal fat but not lipedema fat causing a disproportion in the body shape. Liposuction is the only cure and usually not covered by insurance. Increased awareness and research are paramount to helping us understand the physiology of this PAD and finding a cure outside of surgery.
